Disc Brakes
Disc brakes specifically for cars were first patented in England circa 1902. They were designed to slow and stop a car by clamping down onto the wheel or axle and applying friction, at a faster rate than brakes that were on the market at that time. However, it was only in the 1950s that they were modernized and finally implemented as a production component. In the beginning, they were popularly used in racing cars. Today, most newer cars have a hydraulic braking system that consists of disc brakes, while older cars have drum brakes.
Most disc brakes are manufactured in China.

A major problem that occurs to disc brakes is warping,
which often occurs from overheating. The discs or rotors
of disc brakes will warp from overheating when they
are in constant contact with the wheel or axle of the
car, or when they are not sized appropriately. To prevent
this common problem, first make sure your disc brakes
are properly sized and fitted. Then, while driving,
avoid riding the brakes or stopping frequently.
It is vital to check your disc brakes on a regular basis, as well as the rest of the components that comprise your brakes, since they do wear down from the friction of braking. As they are the most important part of your car, having good brakes could mean the difference between life and death. |

Cars Toronto
Before cars, people used horses, carriages, and rickshaws as common methods of transportation. However, these methods of transportation were soon replaced by the invention and manufacture of vehicles that were self-moving: cars.
In the late 1700s to the 1880s, a number of vehicles were invented. Several types of engines were proposed, but failed as a result of impracticality. However, it was only in 1870 to the mid 1880s that a practical engine was finally designed for the purpose of a vehicle that could move by its own propulsion. The internal combustion engine had finally been designed. This marked the beginning of cars, also known as automobiles.
For short or long trips, cars can be extremely convenient and efficient. Cars have staked their place in urban design and society in general; in fact, it would be surreal if they did not exist!
Unfortunately, the price of this convenience is taking its toll on the environment. Therefore when purchasing new or used cars, consider their effect on the environment. Petroleum based fuels are not the only way to feed cars. Hybrid, electric, and solar powered cars are also available on the market today. |
