Acne Treatment for Adults
A common ailment during the adolescent years, acne can become an embarrassing problem for people well into their adult years. Consultation with a doctor or physician is best for severe cases, as they could be an indication of another health condition. For minor cases, acne treatment for adults is available at drugstores without prescription.

Acne
is the result of pores blocked with sebum (oil in the
skin), dirt, and bacteria. They are categorized into
two types: If they are trapped underneath the surface
of the skin, they are called "whiteheads".
If they are not trapped underneath the skin, they are
darkened by melanin and are called "blackheads".
Either way, they appear as unattractive bumps that can
be painful. Products developed as acne treatment for
adults normally aim to remove this blockage and tighten
infected pores.
The cause of adult acne is still a mystery, though many believe it may be a combination of stress, unbalanced diet, unhygienic practices, allergies, or genetics. Other reasons can be hormonal changes brought on naturally, such as for women just before and during menstruation, or by medication, when taking drugs such as steroids. Modifying daily dietary habits to include more vitamin C, zinc, vitamin A and other antioxidants should help. Altering lifestyle habits will also help keep skin blemish free.
Unfortunately, there is no permanent acne treatment for adults, but it can control the amount and severity of outbreaks. Gentle cleansers containing benzoyl peroxide are recommended, however a moisturizer should follow cleansing to replace necessary oils that may have been stripped.
Having acne doesn't have to be a problem. There is acne treatment for adults.
